Markus joined Dive Fish Snow in a sales support role in Feb 2007 after completing his Advanced Travel and Tourism Certificate. In 2010 Markus was appointed as our dedicated Fishing Consultant in recognition of his total passion for the sport. Although, he still moonlights as a dive holiday consultant as well. A mad keen fisherman and an advanced diver, he spends as much time as he can on and in the water. He has logged hundreds of dives in New Zealand and has also dived at Kadavu in Fiji and Vava'u in Tonga. Markus's most memorable holiday experience was snorkelling with humpback whales in Vava'u, "The sheer size and grace of these creatures is amazing!!!"
He realized one of his biggest goals in 2010 to fish the Solomon Islands and experience the abundance of WWII wrecks, not to mention the warm clear water. In April of 2011, Markus joined Mike on a very exciting trip to experience the remote beautiful diving and fishing sites in Papua New Guinea. Markus looks forward to many more South Pacific adventures as well as sharing his knowledge of the best fishing destinations with you.

Approx 5 more hooked and dropped and many strikes & small runs before dropping off.
Mahimahi every day - 5 total I think - and a wahoo. At least 2 sailfish dropped.
Double strike on yellowfin - BOTH boated - one @ 71.3kg,the other 73.5 kg

Hey Markus,
Thanks for the follow up. The Garden Island Resort was wonderful. The people did call us by name and the accommodations were the best.
We did do the shark dive and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All in all the trip was one of a life time. Thank you so much!! YOU ARE A GREAT TRAVEL AGENT. THANK YOU AGAIN. YOUR THE BEST,
Danny and Bev
Well done a great trip. Hank was a great guy and we secured a 65kg blue marlin, two mahimahi and two wahoo. Fishing was pretty hard going but we managed to meet our own personal targets, mine being a marlin.
The accommodation was great also and the people of Tonga must be the most friendly and helpful in the world.
Just for a heads up for the future, I would like to go back and do it all again with another couple of mates booking a diving and fishing charter trip in OCT 2012. Something like two days diving and three days fishing. Same accommodation as on this trip. I will be in touch closer to the time.
So thanks anyway, Markus for a well organized, successful and hassle free trip.
Cheers,
Ed
Hi Markus.
I had an amazing trip. The people at both resorts were really nice, and the diving was fabulous.
Again thank you for planning my trip.
Regards Jonas.
Hey Markus, oh my god what a holiday, thank you!!
Hadn't really done my research on PNG and it was not what I was expecting so a bit of an eye opener. The hotel was stunning with amazing views of the volcanos, the Aussie managers were incredibly welcoming The diving was incredible. We did 2 WWII Japanese wrecks, a Japanese WWII bomber plane and a purposefully sunk wreck in Rabaul harbour. We also went to see th Japanese submarine drop off point with all the tunnels in the rocks to unload the amo - absolutely fascinating.
The reefs were also lovely, sharks, turtles and plenty of the usual suspects The vis was pretty good everywhere except the harbour which was pretty shit!
We were joined by dolphins for most of our surface intervals - awesome!
The water temp was 30 and its the first time I've dived without a wetsuit. I had not realised there would not be wetsuits and wish I'd had at least a rashie and some long boardies to stop the BCD/weights rubbing. Ended up diving in clothes, not ideal but the dives were good enough for it not to really matter.
Thanks again Markus, it was a great trip Kind regards Ellie
