Day trips
A day trip to the Great Barrier Reef can be a wonderful experience. You may want to just snorkel or try an introductory scuba dive. An introductory scuba dives is a offers you the opportunity to explore the underwater world with a scuba dive instructor. The program is very easy and requires no previous experience.
For the certified diver they offer dive guides for the inexperienced. Alternatively they can find you a dive buddy if you don't have one and wish to dive unguided.
Deep Sea Divers Den operates 2 day boats, SeaQuest and ReefQuest.
SeaQuest is aimed at the more discerning clientele who prefer lower numbers and a more personalised service. The day is very relaxed and the higher ratio of crew:passengers allows for an exceptionally high quality of service. This really is 5 star service for a very reasonable all inclusive price.
Anyone who is not confident about their diving or snorkelling capabilities or simply would like to be pampered should definitely choose SeaQuest.
ReefQuest is aimed more toward the budget traveller or those who want to maximise their time at the reef. ReefQuest leaves a little earlier then SeaQuest and is a little faster. This allows for more time at the reef which is why ReefQuest can offer 3 dives in a day.
4 day/3 night trips
With daily Liveaboard departures available, Deep Sea Divers Den offer the certified diver the most flexible diving itinerary. “Reefquest” (the day trip vessel) is used as the transfer vessel to meet OceanQuest daily so you may book to stay for as long as you like.
3 night/4 day trips depart daily from Cairns and travel to the Outer Great Barrier Reef, include a total of 15 dives.You can also do the PADI Advanced dive course during this trip.
"Ocean Quest" is 28 meters in length, fully air-conditioned and has a cruising speed of 10 knots. She carries 40 liveaboard passengers.
Deep Sea Divers Den have 17 permanent moorings on the Outer Barrier Reef that ensure minimal damage to the pristine coral formations. The
Norman, Saxon, Hastings and Michaelmas Reefs provide excellent diving
and snorkelling for all experience levels. Colorful coral and an array of reef life will amaze you, including “Wally” the 1.5m friendly Maori Wrasse.
