One of the neat things about this job is getting to talk about
other divers’ experiences. This winter we have had clients
telling us about their amazing experiences diving/snorkeling with
humpback whales in Niue and Tonga, and with minke whales in Queensland.
Memories are very emotional experiences that will be with them for
a lifetime.
Other divers have been in the water with orcas, hammerheads and
mantas, and most divers favourite dives are the shark feed dives.
“Muck diving” is gaining popularity
these days – searching for pigmy seahorse, leaf fish, rhinopias,
and thousand of other interesting and colourful critters.
Other divers have been groveling around wrecks from a bygone era
of WW11.
Keep your holiday stories coming in to us and email us your pictures
– it helps us get through the winter!

Would the last diver to
leave NZ please turn the lights out!
September saw over 80 NZ divers leave the winter blues for the tropical
blue waters of the Solomons.
60 divers joined our 3 special charters on “M.V.
Bilikiki” – 3 awesome trips and for many
it was their 2nd or 3rd liveaboard trip to the Solomons.
It’s the diversity of the diving and the calm waters that
make the Solomons one of the top dive locations on our blue planet.
A new dive operation has set up in Honiara, specializing
in the Guadalcanal wrecks. It is easy to combine these with the
big shipwrecks at Tulagi
just across Iron Bottom Sound. We will be putting this
combination together as “The Ultimate South Pacific
Wreck Divers Paradise”
Solomon Airlines have direct flights from Auckland
departing Saturdays, returning Sunday, or you can travel via Brisbane
2 days a week as well – which works better for South Island
departures. Solomon Airlines are also currently refurbishing 3 domestic
aircraft in readiness for the expected high number of divers returning
to the Solomons next year.
Dive operations in Gizo
and Uepi
Isalnd, west of Guadalcanal, are operating and the
diving in these areas is about as good as it gets from land based
facilities.
The Solomons is not for everyone. But if you like adventure combined
with spectacular scenery and world class diving, the Solomons should
be your next dive adventure.
We suggest you book early, as domestic aircraft space will be limited
on days which connect with international flights.

Don’t miss out!
Once you’ve been on a liveaboard dive trip you know what quality
diving and service is all about.
It is physically easier to do 4 liveaboard dives a day than 2 land
based dives. Combine this with the high level of service, great
cuisine and the camaraderie of other divers and it’s easy
to see why divers just love liveaboard diving. It’s
truly the BEST way to dive.
We have 3 special charters for 2005 and you’re welcome to
join us on these. Or you may prefer other scheduled departures-

| NZ Summer
is just about upon us
It’s the time of year to think about getting your dive gear
serviced, tanks in for testing and getting fit for diving! NZ has
some truly great dive locations so get out there and enjoy our fantastic
waters.
Kermadec Islands and Three Kinds Islands
Now this is not normally our speciality, but Ron Blake (Director
of Dive Fish Snow Travel) has dived these pristine islands several
times. We are often asked by clients how to get there, as it’s
not easy. If these locations are of interest to you, drop us a line.
If we get enough interest by mid November we will try to put a charter
together for March/April 2005.

| Mid January to mid
April is traditionally the slow season for most South Pacific
dive resorts. It’s a shame as often some of the best diving
is over the long hot summer as all the juvenile fish form big schools
which attracts even bigger fish, bait bails and lots of action.
Combine the extra fish activity with heaps of resort and airfare
specials around the Pacific and you’re in for great diving
while saving hundreds of $$.
So if you’re looking for a summer dive holiday, the best
Pacific dive locations are only 3-4 hours away
and on sale!
