A passion for fishing adventure has inspired a series of extraordinary voyages to some of the most remote and fascinating places in New Zealand and Vanuatu on board ‘Island Passage’.

Sailing aboard “Island Passage” means you can create a fishing charter that suits your needs. You can fish from the tender boats or venture ashore for rock based casting. In the galley, the chef works with the freshest local ingredients and delicacies to create memorable meals that reflect the region and the day’s activities.
There is accommodation onboard for just 20 passengers.The ten spacious en-suite cabins with rich timber panelling and timber furniture are all fitted with video, audio, TV and are individually air-conditioned. Most cabins have doors opening to the outer deck. During each journey, the crew is on hand to share their knowledge of the area and local fishing conditions.
The Vessel. Island Passage is a large ship. At 42 metres (140 feet) in length she boasts a large dining area and enormous relaxing saloon, satellite TV, sport-fishing boats with Shimano gear, a library, a fantastic indoor/outdoor bar and luxurious en-suite cabins for just 20 guests.
On request a 6-seater twin engine Squirrel helicopter is onboard and available for trips beyond the range of our sea craft. All cabins have a selection of new release and classic movies together with a generous music choice. The Satellite TV is available in the main saloon on a 42” Phillips wide screen Plasma TV and one additional screen is located in the library. A Bose lifestyle system 28 provides music throughout the saloon and to the aft deck. A fine wine cellar plus a wide range of spirits, beer and juices are available onboard.

There are 3 levels of cabins onboard. The 2 Bridge Deck Suites are located on the private upper deck and have doors opening directly onto the teak deck, extra large en-suites and stunning views from the large viewing windows. The 4 Stateroom Cabins are located on the promenade deck which contains the main dining room, saloon, bar and the outdoor entertainment areas. All cabins have doors opening directly onto the deck, large en-suites and wide views from the viewing windows. The 4 Expedition Cabins are located on the main deck. Each has two portholes with a nautical theme. All have large en-suites and offer very generous cabin space. The library is located on this deck.
Fishing and Equipment. A wide range of sport fishing equipment is on board. In Vanuatu there are a multitude of islands and mounts that are virtually untouched. Besides offering famous marlin fishing, there is an abundance of yellow fin, GT, dogtooth, Wahoo and sailfish to name a few species. Saltwater fly-fishing for a variety of inshore reef species is becoming popular and you are welcome to bring your own fly gear onboard.

Fishing will be conducted from four vessels - Island Passage itself for trolling between destinations and jigging/casting over reefs or when anchored up at night, two 7.2 metre Marco centre console /centre cab tenders and a 7.5 metre Commando 'landing craft'. The centre cabin will be set up with outriggers for blue water trolling. Additional boats can be available on request and quality Shimano gear and terminal tackle provided.
