Whistler is located just 120 km (75 miles) north of Vancouver, BC along Highway 99, locally referred to as the Sea to Sky highway and voted the “Most Romantic Road in the World”.
No matter how you choose to travel the mountain highway, prepare to be wowed on the two-hour scenic journey past rushing waterfalls, emerald lakes, pristine old-growth forest and snow-capped mountain views.
Daily scheduled bus service or car rentals are readily available at Vancouver International Airport, and from Vancouver’s downtown. If you really want to see the Sea to Sky in style, splurge a little and see the sights from the back of a high-class limousine, luxury sedan, hummer or stretch-SUV.
You can also get a breathtaking bird’s-eye-view of the Sea to Sky corridor from the cockpit of a float plane or helicopter with aircraft service available from Vancouver to Whistler.
There is also the Whistler Mountaineer train, one of the newest ways to get to the resort. The three-hour premier rail journey gives you front row seats to incomparable views as the train hugs the oceanfront, winds through canyons and climbs the steep grades of the Coast Mountains.
